Recent Plugin Updates and Additions

Pinnacle SMP has recently added several custom plugins and restored key community tools to make the server safer, easier to manage, and more connected across Minecraft, Discord, and the website.

These additions are designed to support everyday play while giving staff and members clearer tools for protection, convenience, shops, activity visibility, and server stats.

  • FragGuard (FG) helps staff log and review block changes, explosions, fire spread, fluid movement, and other grief-related activity. This makes it easier to investigate damage and roll back affected areas when needed.
  • FragStealers (FS) allows players to protect chests and barrels using signs, helping prevent stealing and unauthorized access while keeping ownership simple and easy to understand.
  • PinnacleAFK lets players mark themselves as AFK, shows AFK status in-game, announces AFK changes, and can protect AFK players after a configurable delay.
  • PinnacleShop adds protected player shops so members can safely buy and sell items while helping prevent griefing, theft, and unauthorized shop access.
  • PinnacleStats exports server statistics for the community website, making player stats easier to view and keeping the website more connected to server activity.

We have also updated and added back several existing tools: squaremap, our live web map plugin; DeathsToDiscord, which posts and updates the death leaderboard in Discord; and LastSeenToDiscord, which posts and updates player last-seen activity information in Discord.

Together, these plugins are part of our ongoing effort to keep Pinnacle SMP protected, transparent, and community-focused while making useful server information easier to access wherever members stay connected.

Griefing Incident and Rollback

Recently, Pinnacle SMP experienced a serious griefing incident that affected both spawn and several player bases. After reviewing the damage, it became clear that the best way to protect the server and restore everyone’s progress was to roll the world back to a previous clean save.

The server has now been restored using the June 20 save. While this means some recent progress may have been lost, it allowed us to recover spawn, damaged builds, and affected bases without leaving behind broken or griefed areas.

To help prevent this kind of issue from causing as much damage in the future, we have also created a custom server plugin called FG. This plugin is designed specifically for Pinnacle SMP and gives staff better tools to track, investigate, and undo griefing.

Some of the FG plugin features include:

  • Logging block placements and block breaks
  • Tracking who placed or destroyed blocks
  • Keeping block logs for the past 30 days
  • Searching logs within a selected radius
  • Rolling back changes in a radius to a specific time
  • Logging damage caused by explosions
  • Tracking fire spread damage
  • Logging lava and water flow changes
  • Tracking block movement caused by pistons

With this plugin, staff will be able to inspect damaged areas more easily and, when needed, revert griefing without having to roll back the entire server.

Thank you to everyone for your patience while we worked through this. Pinnacle SMP is built around trust, respect, and community, and we will continue improving the tools and protections needed to keep the server safe and enjoyable for everyone.

We Have Updated to Paper 26.2!

We have finally moved back to Paper! We have also updated to Paper 26.2: Chaos Cubed.

Currently we are still running a mostly vanilla game. We do currently have the 2 plugins which McCreeper1318 has developed, Deaths to Discord and Last Seen to Discord, and they are running smoothly. The death leaderboard and activity log on the discord do only show those how have logged in since the switch to paper however.

As soon as there is an update to our map plugin to allow it to work with 26.2 we will add that plugin back in and make it available to view on the site. There is no timeline on that currently.

You can see everything added in this update here: Minecraft Java Edition 26.2.

Gallery Update

The Pinnacle SMP Gallery is getting a cleaner layout for Season 12! Instead of placing everything into one large section, Season 12 will now include folder-style categories to make screenshots easier to browse.

The new setup will include sections for MBH and Et al, with MBH further organized by month and winner. Starting with May 2026, players will be able to view the featured builds for McCreeper1318 and Atlaskytan in their own dedicated gallery pages.

This change should make the gallery easier to navigate while keeping Season 12 screenshots better organized as the season continues.

Community Votes to Wait for 26.2.

The Pinnacle SMP community recently held a vote on whether the server should switch to Paper 26.1.2 now or wait for the upcoming 26.2 release.

The final vote ended 0–5, with all participating voters choosing to wait for 26.2 rather than move forward with Paper 26.1.2. Because of this, the server will remain on its current setup for now while the community waits for the next version.

This decision helps avoid making a major server change right before another update and gives the server a cleaner path forward once 26.2 is available.

New Legacy Members

For consistently playing on the server since the beginning of Season 11, making many contributions during Season 11 and now in Season 12, and for their overall growth as Minecraft players since the start of of Season 11, I'm excited to announce that mermaidxellie and @atlaskytan are now Legacy Members! 🥳

Season 12 Has Begun

Pinnacle SMP Season 12 is officially live! A brand-new world has been generated, giving everyone a fresh start to explore, build, and grow together.

To keep progression balanced and the community close-knit early on, a world border has been set at 3,000 blocks from spawn. This ensures:

  • A more active and connected player base.
  • Fair access to resources for everyone.
  • Stronger early-season collaboration.

The border may expand later in the season, but for now, it’s all about making the most of what’s inside. Jump in, get established, and be part of the beginning of something great. Welcome to Season 12.

Update Still In Progress

"Alpha builds for Paper 26.1.1 are now available. There is still no ETA for a stable build." - Paper Developers. This means they are now going into testing for the update, but we still do not know when we will be able to update our server to the newest version of Minecraft.

Remember this update is a really big one in terms of how servers are run for two main reasons:

  • The source code for Minecraft was unobfuscated, meaning old ways of working around obfuscation are now creating problems. This affects all mods and server clients and will take time to work around, but in the long term it should make things easier and more stable because developers can code against what is actually there instead of having to guess.
  • Mojang also made changes to how world save data is stored at the same time as making the source code unobfuscated. This means update teams have to be extra careful so worlds do not corrupt when moving between versions.

When there are any more updates, I will let everyone know.

Ranks System Update

We've updated how ranks work to better reflect activity, contribution, and community involvement rather than only time played. Promotions are no longer automatic or purely time-based.

What changed

  • More weight on positive community impact and collaboration.
  • Staff review is now part of rank advancement.
